WHY WE DECIDED TO
INCORPORATE A BLOG INTO OUR WEBSITE.
The incorporation of this
blog was birthed out of an admonition to write (thank you Bro. James, your
appeal did not go unheeded). And so it
was determined that write I must, while at the same time considering the caveat
to think before I etch in stone my pontifications. While a blog is not exactly stone, I do
recognize that this medium is extensively abused and unforgiving to say the
least. I am yet a fallible creature (I
shouldn’t have to qualify this statement, but some would seek to find refuge
for their sin and thus attempt to use these words against the Word of God. Woe to such a one!). I ask only that the wanderers in cyberspace would
consider this as the thoughts here expressed are perused. All in all, what better place than a blog to
set down thoughts, thoughts which may be developed at a pace and thereby made
conformable unto the Word of God, as we are transformed into the image of
Christ.
Not as though I had
already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I
may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I
count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things
which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of
God in Christ Jesus.

And this is the process of
Apprehending Truth!
While at the same time
realizing that a call to holiness requires a moral perfection which I trust
will be fostered on this blog.
Let us therefore,
as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even
this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by
the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
~ Philippians
3:15-16
And so while in the process
of Apprehending Truth, Truth is to be observed!
Give me
understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with my
whole heart.
~ Psalms 119:34
I like something else that
Bro Charlie has said, “Ideas have consequences.
Ideas affect behavior, and behavior affects the culture”. The idea of True Biblical Christianity does
most certainly affect behavior.
So shall my word be
that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return
unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper
in the thing whereto I sent it.
~ Isaiah 55:11
It is an absolute certainty
that the Word of God will either soften or harden hearts. Noone is left
unaffected by God’s Word. As our
individual behavior is affected by the “Ideas of God”, so will this culture be affected. The
repercussions of this affected culture will be returned again upon the children
of the Most High whether for good or for evil.
Regardless of the reaction of the world we MUST cling to Truth, continue
to apprehend, and rejoice in the Word of God.
This promises to be a work
ever in progress until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering
together unto Him.
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner
of conversation;

And so as we are called to
holiness in all that concerns our lifestyles, you may expect to read all manner
of posts on this blog. From theology to
agricultural pursuits, from family life to apologetics, ponderings of history
to current events, or whatever the Lord of Glory would have me pondering at any
given time; look for it here.
What we are pursuing is
Truth as it conforms to holiness and demands to be apprehended. As Bro Britt says, God expects man to believe
the Truth, the Word of God, because it is reasonable to do so. And this is why we are ever diligently
Apprehending Truth.
Buy the truth, and
sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
